This large and noble family residence, listed and protected in its entirety as well as its grounds under the Historic Monuments of France, is offered for vacation rental by the week and can accommodate up to 20 people very comfortably.
The chateau is ideally located 11 kilometres from Bergerac and allows an easy access to the Dordogne main touristic attractions. Raised on a rock base overlooking the Caudeau valley and surrounded by a 15 ha estate, the Chateau de Montastruc is partially surrounded by broad water ditches.
A drawbridge gives access to it. The fortress walls from XIIth and XIIIth centuries overhang the troglodytic habitats from the Vth century, and protect the buildings built successively from XIVth to XVIIIth century and deployed around the main courtyard.
The stables with their beautiful mansard roof date from the XVIIth century, the pigeon tower is from the XVIIIth century. The Château was entirely restored and offers modern comfort within an exceptional and authentic setting furnished with many family antiques.
The grounds include a 15m x 6m swimming pool set on a terrace dominating the site.

The Château de Montastruc is a family historic place listed on the National inventory and protected by the French Ministry of Culture as a Historic Monument.
Hence Montastruc presents a relative fragility and calls for some conservatory obligations. We are happy to offer Montastruc for vacation rentals, while we expect our guests to respect this antic mansion so to enjoy fully its inimitable charm.
The château de Montastruc is offered in its entirety for rental, for a maximum of 20 people in residence, with partial or full service. Rental is from Saturday after 5pm till following Saturday no later than 10 am.
We also welcome weeding events, for which some specific conditions are required.
All rentals include 3 hours per day of cleaning service, except on Sundays. This can be extended on demand.
The Château de Montastruc offers an exceptional setting for weddings and events. The total number in residence remains limited to 20, however all events can be set outside in the « cour d’honneur » and in the upper courtyard where 100 to 200 people can fit easily, while dinner can be served under marquees in the upper courtyard for 80 to 100 guests. A dance floor can be installed as well under the marquees.
Starting mid-2016, the 18th century vaulted « grandes cuisines » will be as well in the château basements for your events.
Please note that for all events requiring marquees and special arrangement, we require the services of a wedding planner to coordinate all details. Some British wedding planners who live in the area know Montastruc very well and we can establish contact on request.
For weddings and other large reunions, our personnel contributes generously to the coordination and preparation of the settings, to the on-going cleaning during the event to keep the place neat, as well as to the general cleaning that follows. To cover this and the additional wear and tear generated by these events, a supplement of 800 euro is charged in addition to the weekly rental price.
During high-season, we unfortunately cannot consider any fractional rental around a weekend, and must stick to the full weekly rental Saturday to Saturday. There is no limit to the number of weeks that can be rented next to each other. During medium and low seasons, a reduced period built around a long weekend can be considered.
