After a break, go to the terrace to taste rosé wine from Bergerac and Monbazillac, and for amateurs of local food, toasts with foie gras, all from our favorite producers.

Market day
It’s market day in the very pretty village of Sainte-Alvère, near the truffle market and the baroque church. Be on site around ten o’clock to meet local producers. Taste their specialties to whet your appetite before having lunch in one of the many bistros and small restaurants in the village.
Next, early afternoon, visit a truffle field with a renowned local producer that we have recommended to you. Summer truffle hunt, ans even some tasting of Périgord black truffles, Melanosa Melanosporum, preserved since winter by the producer.
Returning to Montastruc, make a short stop into the Liorac forest to discover the keep of Causse de Clérans in the hollow of the valley.
Peaceful evening in Montastruc after a light dinner.

7th day
Montastruc offers itself
For this last day in Montastruc, you were spoiled with choice : visit prehistoric caves in the Vezere valley, perhaps even the extraordinary replicas of Lascaux, or discover Périgueux and its Romanic-byzantine cathedral and the romaine remains, or even Brantôme, the « Venice » of Périgord, or for the more athletic guests, a day of tree climbing or other experiences into the generous local nature, on foot, by bike, or on horseback… or stroll quietly in search of churches and forgotten abbeys, or treasure-hunt among antique dealers, or visit a last castle before leaving the area, or quite simply chose the “dolce vita” by the swimming pool and its exceptional site… or maybe it was an unforgettable hot-air balloon flight over the Dordogne before leaving it ? Or did you chose a cooking class that Marie teaches herself, or that she organizes into a beautiful kitchen of another country house for a complete meal to enjoy after the class… Whatever has been your choice, while you devoted yourself to it, Marie and her team have prepared a festive meal and the decorum that comes with it. Tonight is a grand evening and Montastruc offers itself to you with its “grand-siècle” face.
If you wished for it, the party moves to the 18th century former grand kitchens in the basement of the castle where you will dance until dawn.
8th day
The final word
Everything has an end and one must leave behind this place out of time…
Breakfast was a bit earlier than usual but not less appetizing, and Marie manages your check-out before ten o’clock.
Goodbye ! Come back when you want, there is still so much to see in Périgord !
